Dear diary,
I cannot gaze at the stars anymore because of all the blinding lights my children have put upon me. It’s also hard to breathe nowadays; maybe that is because I’m getting older or maybe it is because of the toxic gases my children emit from their industries and vehicles.
There was a time when the seas and lands were in perfect harmony, each nourishing the other. But now it seems the sea is invading the earth and I can hardly understand what is wrong. My children whisper something about “global warming.” They say they will fix it. I hope they do, for their sake.
I think I have to go now. My lungs are troubling me again. I wish I could stare at the stars...
Yours truly,
Earth
